Only once in a life
Does a boy find a girl
He loves much as I love you
Mary Ann
Give me back your love if you can
I know we'll be happy again
Think of what you do

Only once in a life
Does a boy feel as glad
As I felt when I had you
Mary Ann
Give me back your love if you can
I know we'll be happy again
Think of what you do
Do to the one boy
Who needs you so bad
You were my one joy
Now you've made me so sad

Only one in a life
Does a boy feel the hurt
That I felt when I lost you
Mary Ann
Give me back your love if you can
I know we'll be happy again
Think of what you do
I want to tell you
I need you so much
I really felt that
I long for your touch

Only once in a life
Does a boy cry the tears
That I cried when I..I lost you
Mary Ann
Give me back your love if you can
I know we'll be happy again
Think of what you do
Mary Ann
Give me back your love if you can
I know we'll be happy again

Was it the song you were looking for? No

Looking for a very melodic pop song with the lyric "I miss Marianne" in the chorus. Maybe spelled Mary Ann or Mary Anne. There's a line about getting married in the lyrics, I think. Been trying to identify the song and artist for some time, can't seem to find it. A very catchy song.

Could it be Mary Ann by Udo Jürgens? If not have you tried Marian instead? Is it from around the 60s or 70s?

Thanks for your reply jasper. I looked up that song and the suggested spelling of Marian, and no luck. I’ve only heard this song twice, and never the whole thing. Yes, could be 60s or 70s or even into the 80s, very smooth production. The singer sings “I miss Marianne” and it’s echoed by the backing singers. Seems like I’ll never find it. Any other ideas? Thanks Jasper!
